Yoga for a more healthy heart

First of all you are probably aware that Yoga is an ancient Indian discipline which seek to unite physical, mental (uniting person's own consciousness and universal consciousness). The very term Yoga in Sanskrit Language means to integrate, unite.

According to ancient beliefs of the adherents of this discipline in order a man to be in total harmony with himself and the environment it surrounds he has to integrate the body, mind and spirit. And, this is done through exercise, breathing and meditation.

A late research has shown that everyday practicing of Yoga can be helpful in the health of the heart.


The research was made by Indian Institute for Technology and the result was already known to practi of Yoga discipline, it helps in the control of heart beat. In the research participated 84 males, which in turn was shown that just as Yoga discipline implies, they could control parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, which influences the number of heart beat in minutes.

According to the founder of Cardiac Yoga:

Yoga has also other influences in the psychology of individuals, like improvement of holding, reduction of the level of stress. It can also benefit the lung capacity, respiratory function, circulation. Many sports trainers have acknowledged that physical and mental preparedness can help or increase the chances of success.

Although, Yoga is usually attached to some religions in India it is important to mention that anybody no matter sex, age, or religion can use it. A person can alter Yoga to his own needs and benefit from it.
